THE TV PROGRAM “CONEXIÓN ASTURIAS” SHOWS US A REPORT ABOUT THE EXHIBITION “WOMEN’S ROLE IN THE RECONSTRUCTION OF NEPAL”
Date of the exhibition: Jan 12, 2016
Armando Menéndez, President of DAF, explains the objectives of the Foundation DAF and the most immediate needs of the people of Nepal after suffering several earthquakes.
A report which takes us to the heart of the exhibition organised by the Foundation DAF “WOMEN’S ROLE IN THE RECONSTRUCTION OF NEPAL”, to inform us about its activities and the most urgent objectives, raising awareness about the need to help the Nepali people, broadcasted in “Conexión Asturias”, a TV program of RTPA
The photographic tour shows us the reality of people’s lives in Nepal today, the few resources which the country has to confront the reconstruction of the most basic and necessary elements in order to maintain at least the minimum habitability and health conditions, which were already scarce before the earthquake and now have almost disappeared.
The exhibition reveals the Nepalese woman as the leading figure, carrying out strenuous work, like clearing the rubble; and doing so under the impassive and dull gazes of the men unable to lend a hand with the workload.
Through this exhibition we want to denounce, the work and exploitation which women have to support, in order to recover the few things they have left, without the recognition of their most basic rights.
